My buddy Donny dropped this fender blank of with an idea of what he wanted and I ran with it. Gridded the fender by inch to give me a good guidline. Made a few radius guides and taped it off with 1/4 painters tape for a nice fluid line. Cut the design out with a 4 1/2 in. Cutoff wheel and cleaned her up with a file then smoothed it out with a die grinder.
Did some fab work for the boyz over at Rubber City Vintage Cycles. They gave me there 75 xs frame and I found a drop seat kit from visual impact. Chopped the old tail section and shock mounts added Honda rebel shocks. Went together pretty good with a few cuts on the tube notcher. Prepped all the tubing slug welded the solid slug then went to work rig welding the tubeing together. Installed the swingarm and relocated the shock mounts. Another happy customer!
Started back up on my 76 xs. Cut and ground the old beautifully welded stock gussets out. Then made a template I need a Damn plasma cutter! The old porta band and file work just fine it just takes 10 times longer! Fitted the new gussets tacked them then ran a few final welds. Turned out great if I do say so myself.
Went to glenmoor country club for the crem de la crem of motorcars from lambo's to duesenbergs, to Fiskar's electric cars to spyker's.
Took old lady out to a lil shindig at the Iron Horse Saloon. Put on by the spudz riding club from the Manatua area. A lot of the guys that were at the lowbrow getdown attended this party we had a good time my brother made it out on his bike also. Was a brisk ride home to say the least it was about 44 degrees before the no windsheild factor. Good times here are a few pics.
My cousin Kurt asked for my assistance on his 81 xs and I was happy to take on the project. Now its on to biltwell seat and seat mount, motor install, fender mounts, handlebars and chain tensioner.
Just started back up on Chris's '59. Fabbed the front gas tank bung on my lathe drilled,turned,tapped and tacked!
